FULL DAY CULTURAL HERITAGE TOURS IN IRINGA


– Meet at the office for the short tour orientation and registration at 9:00 am  – – Visit at Iringa Boma Region Museum about 9:30 am 

– From the Boma have a visit to Germany and British cemetery and learn more about the impact of WW1 on Iringa 10:00 am 

– Visit the region government Hospital,learn more about different disease facing people of Iringa 10:20 am 

– Walk around the old and new markets, learn more about tradition of Iringa including,local agriculture products, cultural food taste,and local tools. Also you will be able to learn processes of preparing Tanzania local food like Ugali,potatoes and vegetables 11:00 am 

– From the market Visit the historical ‘hanging place’ memorial and have interesting stories of wahehe people 11:30 am 

– Have lunch and short rest at the town postal garden restaurant 12:30 pm  After rest drive out to Isimila stone Age site 2:00 pm

–  Reach at Isimila and visit the Museums where you will be able to see different Early stone tools dated about 1.5 million Years Ago. (Optional) at 2:30 pm

– The tour continues into the canyon down a steep footpath up to the view point for the beautiful Natural pillars(Earth pillars). The walk is very scenic, the earth has a warm reddish tint and it is also a good spot to see birds and different tree species. 3:00 pm 

– Have a short break at the site office about 4:00 pm

– Return Back to Iringa and Check in to your accommodation 5:00 pm (End of tour)
